Kathmandu, February 13 — Pro-monarchy groups in Nepal are moving forward with plans to welcome former king Gyanendra Shah in Kathmandu, even after authorities banned public gatherings around Tribhuvan International Airport. The Kathmandu District Administration Office issued a prohibitory order on Thursday. The order bans gatherings of more than five people in and around the airport area. Officials said the restriction is needed to maintain security and public safety. Authorities also confirmed that no permission was given for any rally, procession, or public event near the airport. India has handed over the third tranche of election-related assistance to Nepal to support preparations for the upcoming elections. Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava, presented the support to Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal at the Ministry of Home Affairs in Kathmandu on Thursday. More Than 270 Vehicles Delivered The third tranche includes over 270 vehicles and supplies. These will help manage election logistics and improve security arrangements. Kathmandu:Election Commissioner Dr. Janaki Kumari Tuladhar has warned that anyone who breaks the Election Code of Conduct will face strict legal action ahead of the House of Representatives election on March 5. Speaking at a public interaction program in Dhangadhi, she said the Election Commission is working to ensure a safe, fair, and peaceful election across the country.
