


India has handed over the third tranche of election-related assistance to Nepal to support preparations for the upcoming elections.
Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava, presented the support to Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal at the Ministry of Home Affairs in Kathmandu on Thursday.

More Than 270 Vehicles Delivered
The third tranche includes over 270 vehicles and supplies. These will help manage election logistics and improve security arrangements.
Among them are 50 trucks for the Nepali Army. The Government of Nepal requested these vehicles for election duties.
Chief of Army Staff General Ashok Raj Sigdel received the trucks from Ambassador Srivastava during the ceremony.
Minister Thanks India
Home Minister Aryal thanked the Government of India for the timely support.
He said Nepal and India share a strong partnership. He described the relationship as based on trust, friendship, and shared democratic values.

Earlier Support in January
India had already provided two earlier tranches of assistance.
The first and second batches included more than 310 vehicles and supplies. They were handed over on January 20 and January 29, 2026.
According to the Indian Embassy, more consignments will arrive in the coming days.
The Embassy said this support shows the strong and long-standing partnership between Nepal and India.
