


President of the Nepali Congress, Gagan Kumar Thapa, has vowed to launch a strong campaign against corruption if his party forms the next government.
Speaking at an election event in Pokhara on Friday, Thapa said Nepal must free itself from corrupt practices that have weakened public trust. He announced that property investigations would be conducted into individuals who have held major public positions since 2046 BS, including former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and himself.

Focus on Reform and Stability
Thapa said the party’s five-year vision includes major reforms in:
- Education
- Health
- Agriculture
- Employment
- Industry
He stressed that Nepal cannot afford further conflict and called for unity to speed up national development.

Call for Responsible Voting
At the same event, party Vice President Bishwaprakash Sharma urged voters to make thoughtful decisions. He said the party has started internal reforms after its special general convention and is moving forward with renewed energy.
Meanwhile, party candidates from Kaski districts also addressed supporters, presenting their local development plans.
With elections approaching, the Nepali Congress leadership has positioned anti-corruption and governance reform at the center of its campaign.
