


Nepal is celebrating Maha Shivaratri today with prayers, rituals, and large gatherings at Shiva temples across the country. From early morning, thousands of devotees have visited temples and holy rivers to worship Lord Shiva.

Pashupatinath Draws Huge Crowds
At Pashupatinath Temple, one of NepalтАЩs holiest Hindu shrines, all four gates were opened from 2:00 am to manage the heavy flow of worshippers. Long lines formed as devotees entered the temple complex after taking ritual baths and offering prayers.
Authorities arranged multiple entry routes and queue systems to control crowds and ensure safety. Extra security and volunteers were deployed to maintain order and smooth movement inside the temple area.

Devotion Across the Valley
Large numbers of devotees were also seen at other major Shiva temples, including Gokarneshwor Temple and Doleshwor Mahadev. Similar scenes of worship and celebration have been reported from Shiva temples across Nepal.
A Day of Spiritual Significance
Maha Shivaratri is considered one of the most sacred days in Hinduism. Devotees believe the day brings spiritual purification, inner peace, and blessings. The festival is marked by fasting, prayers, meditation, and offerings to Lord Shiva.
With chants, incense, prayers, and devotion filling the air, Nepal is experiencing a deeply spiritual and peaceful Shivaratri celebration.
