यो वर्षको पात्रोमा पहिलाको तुलनामा एक दिन थपिएको छ। सामान्यतया एक वर्षमा ३६५ दिन हुन्छन्। तर सन् २०२४ मा वर्ष ३६६ दिन हुने छन्। वर्षमा अतिरिक्त एक दिन हुँदा त्यसलाई ‘लीप यिअर’ अर्थात् 'अधिवर्ष' भनिन्छ। यो वर्ष थपिएको एक दिन अङ्ग्रेजी पात्रोको सबैभन्दा छोटो महिनामा पर्छ। फेब्रुअरी २९ लाई 'लीप डे' अर्थात् अतिरिक्त दिन भनिन्छ र उक्त दिन कतिपय स्थानमा परम्परागत सांस्कृतिक र अन्धविश्वासमा आधारित गतिविधि गर्ने पनि चलन छ। सामान्यतया लीप यिअर हरेक चार वर्षमा आउँछ। यसअघि सन् २०२० मा लीप यिअर थियो भने अब सन् २०२८ मा अर्को लीप यिअर आउँछ। यद्यपि यससँग सम्बन्धित नियममा केही अपवाद छन्। त्यसबारे हामी अन्त्यमा विश्वभरि लीप यिअर मनाउने परम्परासँगै चर्चा गर्ने छौँ। लीप यिअर किन हुन्छ? एक वर्षको पात्रोमा सामान्यतया ३६५ दिन हुन्छ। त्यो पृथ्वीले एक पटक सूर्यको परिक्रमा गर्न ल...

२२ पुस, काठमाडौं । अहिले सञ्चालनमा रहेको पहिलो अन्तर देशीय प्रसारण लाइन ढल्केवर–मुजफ्फरपुर प्रसारण लाइनको क्षमता वृद्धि गर्न नेपाल र भारत सहमत भएका छन् । नेपाल–भारत ऊर्जा सचिव स्तरीय समिति (जेएससी)को ११ औं बैठकले क्षमता बढाउने निर्णय गरेको हो । २० पुसमा चितवनको मेघौलीमा बसेको बैठकले ढल्केवर सवस्टेसनमा आवश्यक पूर्वाधार निर्माण भएपश्चात हाल सञ्चालनमा रहेको पहिलो अन्तरदेशीय ढक्लेवर– मुजफ्फरपुर ४ सय किलोभोल्ट प्रसारण लाइनबाट हुने विद्युत आयात–निर्यातको परिमाण ८ सय मेगावाट भन्दा बढी पुर्‍याउने सम्बन्धमा अध्ययन गराउने निर्णय गरेको हो । बैठकले अन्तर देशीय विद्युत प्रसारणलाइन मार्फत निर्यातका लागि १२० प्रतिशतसम्म क्षमता हुनेगरी जलविद्युत आयोजनालाई स्वीकृति दिने निर्णय समेत गरेको मन्त्रालयका सहसचिव नवीन राज सिंहले जानकारी दिएका छन् । यस बैठकले नेपाल र भारतबीच विद्युत आयात–निर्यात...
