AIGs Deployed Across Provinces as Police Step Up Security for March 5 Elections
Nepal Police have deployed Additional Inspectors General of Police (AIGs) to all seven provinces to strengthen security ahead of the upcoming House of Representatives elections scheduled for March 5.
The move aims to ensure free, fair, and peaceful elections across the country, particularly in sensitive regions with past election-related incidents.
Senior Officers Assigned to Provinces
According to Nepal Police Headquarters, senior officers have been assigned to monitor local security preparedness and assess potential risks in each province:
Sudurpaschim Province – AIG Himalaya Kumar Shrestha
Madhesh Province – AIG Dambar BK (after completing district-level assessments)
Gandaki Province – AIG Manoj KC
Bagmati Province – AIG Siddhi Bikram Shah
