Kathmandu Launches Night Electric Bus Service for Safer Evening Travel
Kathmandu Metropolitan City is introducing a new night-time public transport service to make evening travel safer and more affordable.
The initiative, in partnership with Sajha Yatayat, will begin from Baisakh 1 (April 14) with electric buses operating on key city routes.

Service Time: 8:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Frequency: Every 20 minutes
Buses: Electric and eco-friendly
Security: CCTV cameras and on-board metropolitan police
📍 Routes Covered
North–South Corridor (16 km):Lagankhel → Patan → Central Kathmandu → Budhanilkantha
East–West Corridor (20 km):Thankot → Kalanki → Maitighar → Baneshwor → Airport
